Four Tips for Your Boudoir Photo Session

August 4th, 2015

4_tips_boudoir.jpg

For decades, lingerie photos have been a popular gift for women to give their significant other. It is a very personal offering and allows a woman to display her sensuality. Most ladies spend a substantial amount of money hiring a professional photographer. We handle the boudoir studio set ups, including lighting and background. However, in order to create a perfect photo, it is crucial that the model be fully prepared. To capture an amazing picture, here are some helpful tips and boudoir outfit recommendations for your photo shoot.

1. Posing

We will pose you in the best position for the lighting. It is important that you feel confident and comfortable. It is helpful to imagine your partner, this pulls forward emotions which inspire a natural expression. You do not want the posing to look forced, so relax and enjoy yourself. Use this as an opportunity to show your curves and femininity.

2. Accessories

Take a variety of accessories with you to your photo shoot. Pick your most timeless and classic pieces. One or two pieces of quality jewelry enhance your ensemble. Because accessories are easy to put on and remove, you can switch accessories throughout your session to add a little diversity.

3. Shoes

There are few things in this world sexier than a pair of stiletto heels. Your partner will be thrilled to see you wearing an astonishing pair of high heels. Choose a pair that goes well with your outfit. More importantly, find a pair that really speak to you and express your personality. Your heels should say something like, “come get me.” Do not concern yourself too much with how well you can walk in the shoes. You simply need to wear them for posing, most of which is done sitting or lying down.

4. Lingerie

This is the most vital contribution you make to your photograph. Your lingerie choice needs to be carefully thought out. Quality absolutely matters in this situation. Remember, this photograph will be around forever. Choose a style that fits your body type and accentuates your best features. Wearing stockings is a wonderful way to elaborate on your outfit. Thigh highs accentuate your legs. Thigh highs paired with  a garter belt is likely the hottest look available.

The primary goal of your photograph is to express yourself. Capture your inner sex kitten and relax during your photo shoot. Use the tips above to do this with elegance, class, and sensuality.

Boudoir Fine Art Folio Box

July 6th, 2015

We have been offering these stunning fine art folio boxes for a few months now to our glamour clients for portraits. We wanted to test out the product before adding it to our full list of options. We have fallen in love with this product as a great archival and stunning was to enjoy your photos. It's different then our leather albums we offer but it still has great quality. The photos are 5x7 luster prints that are matted by hand in an 8x10 white mat with a mat backing. Then the photos are put into an 8x10 black linen folio box. This concept goes way back to when photographers were shooting with film and printing and mats photos by hand. The reason it's called a "Folio Box" is because it was indeed the photographer's portfolio to see a sampling of their work. If a photographer wanted to get hired for a job she would bring along her folio box to show her work.

I just love how classic and timeless this fine art folio box is for boudoir. What do you think?

The Oversized Sweater Trend

June 30th, 2015

A new trend we have been seeing at the studio is the over sized sweater look with a pair of panties. This is great for those women that don't own that much lingerie but still want to do a boudoir photo shoot. This also works well with a men's white button down shirt, whit tank top, or sports jersey.

Your Maternity Photo Shoot - Lingerie or Dresses?

June 2nd, 2015

Your Maternity Photo Shoot: Sexy Lingerie or Flirty Dresses?

A boudoir photo shoot can be nerve-wracking at any stage in life, but staging one during your pregnancy presents unique challenges. For instance, what do you plan on doing with your photos after the shoot? Will you display some inside your home? Are you planning on sharing the photos with your child someday? Or are you planning on keeping them secret for you and your partner's eyes only? Even if you feel strongly one way or the other, your maternity photo shoot will benefit from both sexy lingerie and flirty dresses.

Your Sexy Photos

While you might not feel it now, your pregnant body is incredibly sexy, and I bet your partner thinks so too. After all, your maternal body is a very public and physical proclamation of your love for each other. Because you will only have this pregnant body one time in your life, I like to capture it in at least some sexy poses. Bring along lingerie that makes you feel good and that showcases your assets (especially your baby belly). Sheer lingerie works well for this purpose as does a simple bra and panty set. Tasteful nude photos also work well to show off your sexy pregnant body.

Photos for Mom

Of course, cute, flirty dresses are good for pictures that you want to share with anyone aside from your partner. Because maternity shoots are centered around your pregnant body, anything you bring should define your belly. To that end, think beyond baby doll dresses. Button down shirts work well for keeping you modest but still showcasing your belly. Skirts also give me a chance to make sure your belly can be seen in your pictures.

A maternity photo shoot is a great way to capture and remember your body during this amazing time in your life. Bring clothes that make you feel great, and don't be afraid to get outside your comfort zone when it comes to sexy lingerie or bearing it all. For more information on your maternity photo shoot, contact us today.

Why A Utah Boudoir Photographer Is Your New Best Friend

Chances are you've seen advertisements for various boudoir photographers. Maybe you've even had a friend or family member that went and had sexy lingerie photos taken and raves about her experience, but you haven't been sure whether or not it is something you would want to do.

Of course, who doesn't want beautiful photos of themselves to remind them every day that they are sexy, intriguing and worthy of attention. However, it takes a little audaciousness. You have to be willing to believe that you are worth it!

The truth is a great boudoir photographer really is like a best friend. They make you feel comfortable right away and they point out all your best features, and help you hide the areas that you aren't as thrilled to showcase.

Most importantly, a quality boudoir photographer will help you feel more confident and boost your self-esteem. When it comes to being a real knockout, the sexiest feature a woman has in confidence. You don't have to have the perfect figure. You just have to feel comfortable in your own skin. Men are attracted to women who believe they are desirable and aren't afraid to flaunt their beauty.

The biggest take away from your boudoir session won't be your photos, even though you will love them!  The biggest take away will be your new confident sexiness that will shine through in every circumstance, because you will never forget how beautiful you are once you see it through someone else's lens.

3 Ways to Boost your Self Esteem

May 17th, 2015

3 Simple Ways to Boost Your Self-Esteem

With the media constantly sending out photoshopped images of celebrities and models, it's hard for women to not feel unattractive at times. Even knowing that the pictures aren't real and that it's actually impossible to look like the models in the magazines, you can't help but feel a bit down on yourself. Thankfully, it can be easy to feel sexy and wonderful again using one of the three ways to boost your self-esteem.

Treat Your Body Right

The better you treat your body, the better you'll feel about it. So feed your body foods with lots of antioxidants and perform exercises to strengthen and tone. Then indulge in a full body massage. You'll feel so much better after doing so.

Get Glamorous

It's hard to see yourself as beautiful and glamorous if you're constantly in sweats or yoga pants. Try changing it up every so often with a cute dress or a lacy top. However, don't just save your new pretty clothes for evening outs; wear them to a glamour photo shoot. Then you'll have glamorous photos of yourself to look at anytime you start feeling down.

Book a Boudoir Photo Shoot

Want to feel like a total sex goddess? Try a boudoir photo shoot. Wear a black teddy or even something as simple as a sports jersey. You'll have a blast at the photo shoot, and the pictures you receive in the end will have you embracing your sensuality.

Ready to boost your self-esteem with a glamour or boudoir photo shoot?Contact us today.

Mini Boudoir Sessions and Marathons

May 7th, 2015

Mini Boudoir Sessions Suck!

In my honest opinion mini or marathon boudoir sessions are the worst experience for the client. Boudoir is different then any other type of photography because your wearing lingerie and most women aren't 100% comfortable when you first start the photo shoot. So if you book a deal that is a mini or marathon session with 1-2 outfits and 40 minutes without hair and makeup your going to be really disappointed. I've found that most clients need a 15-20 minute warm up time before they feel really comfortable with the posing and sexy facial expressions. Also, most people are nervous when they first arrive at the studio and having an hour for hair and makeup before the shoot allows people to relax before taking their clothes off. This first hour of hair and makeup makes a big difference on the comfort level of the entire shoot. We have a chance to talk and get to know each other while you get an awesome makeover.

Back to why mini sessions suck – so you get about 20 minutes at the end where you feel comfortable and then your rushed out the door so the next client can come in and have the same crappy mini session experience. Back to back photo shoots with a rush attitude. Then your told that you'll see your pictures in about 2 weeks in an online gallery. I hate that! I want to see my photos asap! This is why we have our clients view and order their photos the same day right after the shoot. Would you rather wait 2 weeks or 60 minutes to see your pics?

So, your pics are delivered in an online gallery and now you have to pick your favorites to purchase. This is so hard to decide! No help or feedback on what to do with the pictures or what ones are best. So your lost and put off making an decisions. Then your 3-6 months down the road and realized you never picked your favorite pics from your mini session. Crap!

Overall it's a crappy experience to be rushed through a mini session with only 40 minutes and then suffering through an online gallery to never decide on your pics. Your better off booking the full experience with hair and makeup, 2 hour shoot, tons of outfits, same day viewing and ordering. Boudoir is about having an awesome experience! That's just my 2 cents on the whole thing with having photographed boudoir for 8 years.

Your Maternity Photo Shoot - Are You Wearing Lingerie or Dresses?

April 6th, 2015

When you decide on a maternity photo shoot, you might turn to the internet for inspiration. The first thing you'll realize is that there are a lot of crazy people out there with a lot of ideas that you never would have considered--much less publicized. Suddenly, women who would never show off a lot of skin are flaunting their baby bump, which leaves you wondering: when it comes time for your maternity photo shoot, should you choose lingerie or dresses?

First, rid yourself of the notion that just because there's a lot of skin showing, it's indecent. There are some gorgeous photos out there that incorporate lingerie into a maternity photo shoot--many of them real works of art that you'll be delighted to take part in.

Next, ask yourself what your intended audience is for these photos. If you're going to share them with your family--your grandparents, parents, siblings--you probably won't want to use lingerie in that part of your shoot. On the other hand, you and your husband might well want to remember this time in your lives and be able to look back on it. Pregnant women are beautiful, and he thinks you're the most beautiful one of all. Would he appreciate a few lingerie-clad photos to remember this time with? It might be worth an extra shot or three to provide them for him.

Feeling nervous? Stop and look at yourself in the mirror. Look at all those curves: gorgeous, life-giving curves that you'll only get to have in quite this way a handful of times in your life. You are sexy--yes, even nine months pregnant and feeling like you're ready to pop. This is life-affirming. Would you like to celebrate these last few weeks of pregnancy in a way that you and your husband will remember forever? It will definitely be an experience worth having.

Ready to book your maternity shoot? Contact us to get it set up and ask any questions that you might have.
