Make-Up Monday: Let's Talk Primers
January 25th, 2016
Jump on the bandwagon kids- if you're not using a primer, it's time to start!
What does a primer do?
It can: blur wrinkles, mattify your skin, minimize the appearance of pores, even out skin tone, and leave your skin with a velvet like base before you put your makeup on so that it stays on longer. Think of your skin like a wave. Primer fills in all of those grooves on the surface of your skin so that everything that goes ontop is smooth and flawless!
What primer is best for me?
I like to think about my client's main skin concern.
Are you naturally overly red toned in your face? Try a green tinted primer to even out your coloring.
Do you have really oily skin? Try out a mattifying primer that keeps shine away all day long.
Here are a few of my favorites!
I love Tarte's clean slate poreless primer. It's great for people with sensitive and/or textured skin. It lasts all day long and has a really silky finish! ( A little goes a long way!)
This one is my personal fave. It helps keep my shine at bay and also has an anti-acne treatment so that I don't break out. Talk about killing two birds with one stone! The finish is a bit more drying and the formula is kind of like a gel.
Makeup Forever makes a great color correcting primer. This green primer is very light and doesn't leave any type of residue. It's even great for men to wear on a daily basis to cancel out any redness. (cue: grooms!)
Too Faced Hangover Primer is great for people with dry skin. It has almost a watery finish and the coconut scent is divine!
Places to purchase these:

Photo Shoot Friday - Miss "T"
January 22nd, 2016
Check out a recent boudoir session we did in the studio using the new flower wall!! Loved how all these turned out.
What to Wear Wednesday - Heart Corset
January 20th, 2016
For this weeks What to Wear Wednesday I'm featuring a black corset with a red heart on the front. Now this piece of lingerie is from Victoria's Secret but don't go run out to the store looking for it. I found this gem on EBay when I was looking for Valentine's Day themed "heart" lingerie. I knew this was a one of a kind corset so I got it for the studio. This corset is a size small/med and is available for you to wear during your boudoir photo shoot. Just ask for it!!
Make-up Monday: YouthMud vs. SuperMud
January 19th, 2016
The "YouthMud" treatment is great for getting a deep exfoliation. (A
word to the weary- if you have sensitive skin, try a small amount of
product on the inner side of your wrist to make sure your skin does not
have a reaction). Expect some light activity ie:tingling but not burning
for the first few minutes. Remove the mask after 10 minutes and voile,
you're 10 years younger with a gorgeous dewey glow! I use this mask
about once a week, especially during the winter.
Now let's talk "SuperMud". This mask is everything! If you are prone to acne, blackheads or just large pores, this mask does it all. A magic green goo- my secret weapon. This product has chunks of Eucalyptus leaves in it which smells delicious. After washing it off I always have such tight, clean looking skin.
Every New Year's my family and I snowmobile out to our remote cabin in the woods. I am responsible to bring our yearly mask, and this time around my mom and I did the Supermud clearing treatment (my skin was a little grumpy after all the sugar I had been consuming over the holidays and needed a deep clean). As you can see, ask the mask dries it turns light green. Roughly 10 minutes)
If
you are interested in trying this product out- now is the perfect time
because they are offering 15% off to new customers! Purchase here:

Photo Shoot Friday - Miss "K"
January 15th, 2016
Miss "K" was very nervous before her boudoir photo shoot. Her nerves melted when we started to shoot. I've found that shooting the first outfit can be the hardest part for clients and once we move on to the 2nd outfit it's just fun for the rest of the shoot. This is why I like longer shoots with 2 hours and multiple outfits changes. The more we shoot the better the pictures get.

What to Wear Wednesday - Black Bustier
January 13th, 2016
For this weeks WHAT TO WEAR WEDNESDAY I'm featuring a sexy black and nude bustier from Victoria's Secret. This piece is so different with the lace on the neck and is very slimming if you want to cover your tummy. Pair this with black thigh high stockings, black heels, and long black statement earrings to complete the look.
New 2016 Backdrop - The Flower Wall
January 11th, 2016
I'm so excited to show off our new flower wall! This is an awesome new set we added to the boudoir studio for more variety. Our valentine's day boudoir clients will be the first to get pictures in front of the flower wall.

A Valentine's Day Boudoir Photo Shoot - What to wear?
January 5th, 2016
Valentine’s Day is usually paired with chocolates, roses, jewelry, and stuffed Teddy Bears. Why not mix things up a little this year with a fun and classy Valentine’s Day Boudoir photo shoot? You can get your special someone an extra special gift this year because who doesn’t like a little sexy thrown in with Valentine’s Day? As you prepare for your boudoir photo shoot’ What to wear is a valid question. As you think about this question, keep in mind that you want to feel beautiful and comfortable with yourself, you want to show off your more provocative side, and you want to wear something you know your partner will like. Here are some suggestions on what to wear during your Valentine’s Day boudoir photo shoot:
Pink or Red?
Two of the colors you see the most around Valentine’s Day are red and pink – which go perfectly with roses or rose petals. Show your soft, sweet, and flirty side by dressing in a light pink baby doll lingerie set. Or, you could show off your naughty and vixen side by dressing in deep red. Use a red corset with black heels, and black stockings.
Corset and Stockings
There is nothing more classic, sexy, alluring, or elegant than a great corset and some stockings. Buy a corset in red, black, white, or pink with hearts, ribbons, or lace for Valentine’s Day. Some black fish net stockings would also pair nicely with a red corset.
Roses and a Towel
Roses are a staple on Valentine’s Day, so bring on the roses in your photo shoot! Put some in your hair and make a pile of rose petals to have fun with during your photo shoot. You can make it all a little more focused on the bedroom by wearing a towel surrounded by rose petals.
Silk and Lots of Lace
On Valentine’s Day, you can’t go wrong with lots of silk and lace. You can wear a silk nightie, lacy panties, a lacy red bra, etc. As long as it has silk or lace, you are good to go.
Ready for your Valentine’s Day Boudoir photo shoot? Contact us today to set up a session you and your partner won’t forget for a long time.
Create a Holiday Boudoir Photo Shoot - What to Wear for a Classy Session?
December 8th, 2015
Holiday seasons are a wonderful time to create a little bedroom magic in the world of boudoir photography. While birthdays and anniversaries might be the main events that we often think of (after all, these are typically gifts for our special someones) the holiday season is a great time to put on some sexy seasonal lingerie and do a boudoir photo shoot - but what to wear? It can be easy to accidentally slip into the realm of weird sexy reindeer, or awkward naked Santa. Here are four ways to create some sexy boudoir magic, just in time for the Holidays.
Go Ice Queen
Go for lingerie that is blue, silver, and white in color, and line your eyes in icy silver and purples. Don't be afraid of the glitter! The Holidays aren't just about the festivities - the season they reside in is a pretty great time of the year, too. Make it work in your photographs by embracing that dazzling sparkle and putting it into your wardrobe choices!
Make Sweaters Sexy
Over the knee sweater stockings? Your beau's favorite cable-knit? Yes, please! These make stupendous boudoir additions. Not only do they pair well with a sexy set of knickers that peek out from the bottom of that sweater, but they are evocative of cold weather spent snuggled up with your honey, sipping hot cocoa by the fire... and then getting to the fun part of removing all those layers.
Find Some Furs
And yes, they can be synthetic. Whether you have a thick fur coat or a splendid throw or rug, get something you can wrap yourself in - or sprawl out on. Fur is luxurious and glamorous all at once, and it really is reminiscent of the Holiday season. Be sure you find something soft to snuggle up on - after all, you'll likely be dressed in very little, so that skin-to fur contact is going to need to be bearable.
Make Yourself the Present
Find the absolute widest red satin or velvet ribbon you can, and start wrapping! Use it to create a sexy Christmas bralette and position yourself as the present for your partner (bonus points if your tree is already set up, and you and your photographer can work to get a few shots of you curled up at the base of it, waiting to be "unwrapped" Christmas morning).
Ready for the Holiday season? Contact us today to arrange for a sexy Holiday boudoir shot that you and your partner won't forget!

Black Friday 2015
November 25th, 2015
I'm sure your email is exploding with Black Friday Deals and after much debate we have decided to NOT run a Black Friday Deal this year. Our Christmas Special has been very popular and we felt it would be unfair to drop our prices lower then the Christmas Special since it's already such a great deal. The Christmas deadline is December 18th so if you've been on the fence about booking a shoot snatch up the Christmas Special because when our schedule gets fully booked for Christmas we will remove the deal from the website. Yes, we will be doing a Valentines Special but it will be different then the Christmas Special. Feel free to email us about any last minute available shoot dates. opie@opiefoto.com

Four Tips for Your Boudoir Photo Session
August 4th, 2015
For decades, lingerie photos have been a popular gift for women to give their significant other. It is a very personal offering and allows a woman to display her sensuality. Most ladies spend a substantial amount of money hiring a professional photographer. We handle the boudoir studio set ups, including lighting and background. However, in order to create a perfect photo, it is crucial that the model be fully prepared. To capture an amazing picture, here are some helpful tips and boudoir outfit recommendations for your photo shoot.
1. Posing
We will pose you in the best position for the lighting. It is important that you feel confident and comfortable. It is helpful to imagine your partner, this pulls forward emotions which inspire a natural expression. You do not want the posing to look forced, so relax and enjoy yourself. Use this as an opportunity to show your curves and femininity.
2. Accessories
Take a variety of accessories with you to your photo shoot. Pick your most timeless and classic pieces. One or two pieces of quality jewelry enhance your ensemble. Because accessories are easy to put on and remove, you can switch accessories throughout your session to add a little diversity.
3. Shoes
There are few things in this world sexier than a pair of stiletto heels. Your partner will be thrilled to see you wearing an astonishing pair of high heels. Choose a pair that goes well with your outfit. More importantly, find a pair that really speak to you and express your personality. Your heels should say something like, “come get me.” Do not concern yourself too much with how well you can walk in the shoes. You simply need to wear them for posing, most of which is done sitting or lying down.
4. Lingerie
This is the most vital contribution you make to your photograph. Your lingerie choice needs to be carefully thought out. Quality absolutely matters in this situation. Remember, this photograph will be around forever. Choose a style that fits your body type and accentuates your best features. Wearing stockings is a wonderful way to elaborate on your outfit. Thigh highs accentuate your legs. Thigh highs paired with a garter belt is likely the hottest look available.
The primary goal of your photograph is to express yourself. Capture your inner sex kitten and relax during your photo shoot. Use the tips above to do this with elegance, class, and sensuality.

Boudoir Fine Art Folio Box
July 6th, 2015
We have been offering these stunning fine art folio boxes for a few months now to our glamour clients for portraits. We wanted to test out the product before adding it to our full list of options. We have fallen in love with this product as a great archival and stunning was to enjoy your photos. It's different then our leather albums we offer but it still has great quality. The photos are 5x7 luster prints that are matted by hand in an 8x10 white mat with a mat backing. Then the photos are put into an 8x10 black linen folio box. This concept goes way back to when photographers were shooting with film and printing and mats photos by hand. The reason it's called a "Folio Box" is because it was indeed the photographer's portfolio to see a sampling of their work. If a photographer wanted to get hired for a job she would bring along her folio box to show her work.
I just love how classic and timeless this fine art folio box is for boudoir. What do you think?

The Oversized Sweater Trend
June 30th, 2015
A new trend we have been seeing at the studio is the over sized sweater look with a pair of panties. This is great for those women that don't own that much lingerie but still want to do a boudoir photo shoot. This also works well with a men's white button down shirt, whit tank top, or sports jersey.

Curvy Boudoir Photography
June 26th, 2015
There are so many women when I tell them about boudoir photography the instant response is, "Well, I want to do a photo shoot but I need to loose 10 pounds first." I'm here to tell you. DON'T WAIT You need to be in photographs today because for most of us that extra 10 pounds is never going to go away. Bringing bootie back is all the range right now. Let's face it men like curves and you should love your own curves as well.
