I just loved Miss "J" and her red lip color and fun sassy hair. She did a boudoir photo shoot as a gift for her husband and also as a gift for herself. She requested a lot of dark images for her shoot.

Check out this Halloween inspired boudoir photo shoot I put together. I wanted to stay away from crazy costumes so I decided to focus on different lace masks paired with lingerie. I hope you have a fun halloween!

Sexy Halloween costumes are nothing new, of course. But some of them go beyond just a short skirt or a low neckline, crossing the line into straight-up lingerie. Depending on your perspective, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. You might not be comfortable showing that much skin, or conversely, you might totally be up for wearing something revealing and unapologetically sexy. Plus, you’ll only wear a costume for Halloween once -- but a lingerie-style costume can get some extra mileage in the bedroom. You could even pick one up just for the bedroom.

Check out these six bold, sexy Halloween costumes that walk the line between actual apparel and lingerie.

1) Eat Me Alice Costume

That name, uh… says it all? This Alice in Wonderland costume isn’t your typical Victorian-style blue dress and apron. It’s very short and very saucey. It’s not exactly bare-all -- if you wear a bikini, you’ve been out in public in something that covers less than this does. But at the same time, our concern is that it’s not obvious that it’s Alice in Wonderland. It’s just divergent enough from the way that character typically dresses that you might get people asking what you’re supposed to be. We love the stockings, though.

2) SWAT Hottie

If it weren’t for the obvious SWAT labels on the leotard and the hat, it probably wouldn’t be 100% obvious what this is supposed to be. Did the person who designed this even know what full SWAT gear looks like? Because it doesn’t look like a sexy low-cut leotard, we’ll tell you that much. If you’re feeling aggressive, though, we like the subtle fem-dom vibe.

3) Miss Witchcraft

Witch or dominatrix? You decide! We like the detail on this one, though, especially that pentacle neckline. This wet-look bodysuit is pretty cool, though. The gloves and thigh-high boots are what really make it. To be honest, you can’t go wrong with thigh-high boots and fishnets.

4) Sparkle Sweet Angel

This costume screams “Victoria’s Secret fashion show,” and we love it. The bustle, the foil, the gold embroidery -- it’s all actually rather elegant. (At least in theory. The fabrics used in store-bought costumes tend to be a little chintzy, so we suspect that in real life, this looks cheaper than it does in the picture.)

5) Cat Fight

Okay, seriously, this is a straight-up dominatrix ensemble. Nothing wrong with it, if that’s what you’re into. In fact, this one covers a bit more than the others. But still, this one’s not even subtle. Also, why are we seeing so many dominatrix-looking costumes, but none for subs? Anyway, this might be more Venus in Furs than Eartha Kitt, but it’s definitely got its own unique appeal.

6) Burlesque Babe

We’re going to be honest-- that bustier is to die for! This one definitely looks like lingerie -- but come on, it’s a burlesque performer costume. An elegant deep purple bustier, accented with black satin ribbons, is as at home in the bedroom as it is on Halloween night.

Check out miss "N" and her stunning bridal boudoir photo shoot. She brought some new lingerie from Victoria's Secret that I just loved. My favorite outfit was the red lace teddy with long sleeves.

Check out Miss "J" and her cut boudoir photo shoot. She did the pictures for her groom as a wedding day gift. She also decided to stick with the colors black, blue, and white for the session.

It's a rainy day today and I wanted to show you guys two lights I like to use when sunlight is not available.

Victoria's Secrete just rolled out their Fall 2016 lingerie line and it's full of beautiful jewel tones like emerald, wine, and plum. They also have some awesome lingerie pieces with different necklines. This garter slip shows a unique neckline with the lace laying right on the collar bone.

Have you ever wondered if booking the Deluxe boudoir session is worth it for 2 different makeup looks and unlimited outfits? Well, here is what 2 makeup looks will give you for your boudoir session. The first look we did lighter on the eye makeup with no eye liner on the bottom and red lips to match 2 red outfits she brought. Then for the 2nd makeup look the artist smoked out the shadow and added liner to the bottom then smoked out some of the bottom of the eye. Then she changed the lip color from red to a soft pink.

Miss "M" rocked her session! She has a spunky attitude and her cut haircut was perfect for the shoot.

So, there has been much debate over the past 9 years that I've been shooting boudoir if some outfits are sexy or cheesie. The santa outfit is one of them. As soon as November and December roll around we start getting fully booked with boudoir shoots for Christmas gifts and then clients start to bring in red lingerie and sexy santa costumes. For this weeks Makeup Monday I wanted to feature a makeup look that has some color for the shadow. Our most requested makeup look is a smokey eye with grey, brown, or gold. This makeup features purple shadow. Purple is great to bring out the green in hazel eyes.

Check out Miss "A" and her stunning boudoir session. She went with the Luxe session and had 2 makeup looks and unlimited outfits. I just love the pop of red she had in her session.

Throw back Thursday all the way back to 2014 when I was still shooting boudoir out of my small house. I really did love my boudoir set up at home but once I hit 4-5 boudoir sessions a week it was just too much to keep running the business out of my house.

Throw Back Thursday! This week I'm featuring a photo shoot from December 2013 that was shot in my home studio 3 year ago! At that time I was using the entire first floor of my home to shoot boudoir.

For this weeks what to wear wednesday I wanted to feature a bright pop of color. Bold blue can be such a stunning color against your skin tone. This image features a simple blue slip.

It's Tushie Tuesday!

For this weeks #makeupmonday I'm featuring a gold smokey eye and light pink lips. Gold makeup looks best if you have blue eyes or if your skin tone is more warm.

Check out miss "K" and her sexy lingerie pictures! We tried out 2 new sets for her shoot. The first new set is the silver sequence backdrop and the 2nd one is the all white sheer drapes set up. Loved the results of both!

Check out Miss "L" and her stunning boudoir session. She brought as awesome cowgirl outfit that I just loved. We stayed with red, black, and white for the session. We also decided to shoot some classy nude images with the large fur blanket in the studio.

When Miss J asked if she could bring her husband's car for her boudoir photo shoot I wasn't sure what to expect. The car was awesome to photograph. Since the studio is located in downtown Salt Lake City near the Library and Trax we can get people coming up to us during a shoot if we want to be outside. So, we drove on I-80 West towards the lake and found a private spot just off the freeway to shoot the car. It's great when you can get both a studio look and some pics outside.

When you're booking a session for boudoir photos, let us take care of the lighting, the camera and the angles. You just need to focus on what you like to wear. 

Here's a series of boudoir outfit recommendations that will help make the session more than memorable.

MAKEUP - Makeup can look different in the finished photos than it does in your mirror. Ask us what and how much makeup to wear. The makeup artist has a wide selection of colors available. A deep shade of red may provide the look you want while a lighter shade won't.

ACCESSORIES - Load up your accessories. Never mind that you may wind up bring a suitcase of necklaces, scarves chokers, garter belts, rings and so on. Sometimes the right accessory placed at exactly the right spot can turn a so-so photo into something that almost ignites the paper the image is printed on. 

SHOES - Bring shoes. Bring all kinds of shoes. Get a set of spike stilettos too. You're not going to be walking around in them. You might stand, but if you have to move, take them off, move and put them on again. Really high heels cause your calves to tense which provides definition in the pictures. There's a reason pin-up girls are often seen in stilettos or standing on the balls of their feet. It makes those legs look so sexy.

LINGERIE - Lingerie is a must. Find something you like. This is important. If you like it, that's going to show in the pictures. If you don't like it, you'll have to work much harder to make the images be worthwhile. Thigh high stockings with a garter belt might sound corny, but they are a mainstay in this kind of photography. Choose a few different colors, but black and white are almost can't-go-wrong colors.
