Frequently Asked Questions

What is Boudoir Photography?

The term "Boudoir" is a french word for a woman's dressing room. Boudoir photography is photographs of women in lingerie. Boudoir portraiture has been gaining immense popularity in recent years. As women, we spend endless amounts of time and money pampering ourselves with beauty products and services, clothing, accessories, fitness and even plastic surgery to make us feel beautiful. By investing in portraiture of ourselves, we can capture and document our beauty to treasure for a lifetime.

Do you do touch ups or airbrushing?

Yes, touch ups are done on all printed products such as wall art, prints, and albums.

I have a little problem area that I don't like about by body - is there anything you can do?

Regardless of age or body type, I specialize in offering all women an incredible opportunity to commission their own personal collection of stunning, modern boudoir portraits. Every woman is very different and has something incredible to capture. My beauty retouching includes skin perfecting, body contouring and feature enhancement. Every detail is covered from wrinkles to acne, scars, cellulite and stretch marks. You don't have to worry about these little imperfections. I have everything covered.

Yes! I have a freelance hair and makeup artist come to the studio to get you ready.

Are boudoir pictures still flattering for someone without a model type figure?

Yes! I have photographed women of all shapes, sizes, and ages. Boudoir pictures are flattering for everyone.

I'm a little uncomfortable about nudity.

Nudity is certainly not necessary and I will not push you to go further than you feel comfortable with. Sexy isn't always about how much you show, it's all about how you show it! Most men feel that leaving something to the imagination is much sexier than baring it all.

Will my session be with a female photographer?

Yes! With such personal portraits it is reassuring for both you and the man in your life that OPIE Beauty and Boudoir Photography is an all female team including the makeup artist, photographer, and retouch artist.

If I choose to have my boudoir session done in a hotel is that included?

The studio is available to use for free. We do not shoot boudoir sessions at hotels or client's homes.

I highly recommend that you bring your own outfits for your photo shoot because it will fit correctly and it will fit your personal style. However, I do have some outfits available for you to use if you see something you like better then what you brought. The studio wardrobe is available to use IN ADDITION to your own lingerie.

How many prints are included with a boudoir session?

A session is for the photographers time and talent. The photos are available to purchase a la carte or in a collection after the shoot.

How far in advance should I plan if I want to give the photos as a gift?

We book 60-90 days out on the calendar. I recommend doing your photo shoot 2-4 weeks before you plan on giving it as a gift. The photos will be available the same day as the shoot for an in person ordering session and an album will take about 2 weeks to create.
