She is wearing a fitted blush pink maternity gown that we provide at the studio along with 2 rose hair clips. I just love the green ivy backdrop for these photos. She wanted her husband and daughter in the photos. We are so happy they joined her for the shoot.

Check out Oliver's sweet newborn session that I shot while mentoring with Becka Price Photography. He slept during the entire shoot and we were able to get the entire session done in 1.5 hr which never happens for a newborn shoot. Most newborn sessions are about 3 hours. Such a cute and sweet baby boy!

Winter is all about the cold -- why not bundle up in the most luxurious and out-of-this-world ways possible? maternity shoots are a great way to step out of our ordinary lives and into a world of rich textures, colors, and experiences. With Winter, we can experiment with tantalizing furs -- real or fake -- thick tartans and layer upon layer of silk wrappings. 

Use Nature for Surreality

One of the things I love most about shooting in Winter is exactly what people tend to discount it for -- its barren and blank canvas. This can take a normal photo shoot and bump it up to haute couture levels, taking something that would have seemed simply elegant indoors, but becoming entirely breathtaking outdoors. This photo from a fashion shoot in Lapland is a greater example of that -- reindeer not necessarily needed!
