My Style

My style is really a hybrid. I have so many inspirations that come from so many different places and I try to implement them in my images. I love the raw emotion of photojournalism and fun whimscial photographs with some fashion photography mixed in. I believe in warm lighting, incredible backgrounds and choosing locations very carefully. As far as my photojournalist side, I never interrupt a moment. I never pose situations that are already so natural on their own. I'm an observer most of the time with very limited intrusion only when it is desired to achieve a particular artistic vision. Although I love candid shots above all others, many of my candid shots are actually posed! I believe a good photographer not only capture those moments, but has the ability to create them as well. I give my clients A LOT of posing direction. I will coach you through the entire photo shoot showing you different poses so you will get relaxed, fun, and natural images. You are never left feeling unnatural or awkward. I work quickly to create a variety of images that are candid, artistic, and a few traditional ones for good measure. I consider myself an alternative photographer. I aim to create work that is real, natural, and artistic.

If you are looking for strictly traditional photography, I may not be the best fit for you. I would be happy to refer you to other photographers who specialize in this area.

Every photographer has a different and unique style. It is incredibly important that you find a photographer that you connect with bringing you to the realization that you have indeed found the perfect person to capture your most special memories.
