Amy and Ricky got married yesterday. That means I can finally post Amy's stunning bridal pictures from over a month ago when it wasn't too cold and there were colorful leaves on the trees. We started out at memory grove and up hit up the beautiful trees in the area and then went over to the beehive tea room for some beautiful vintage portraits. Enjoy.

I just love how Courtney and Rj's wedding album turned out. They went with a sexy snake leather spine and a chocolate brown suede main leather.

Annie + Dylan
October 3, 2009
Johnson Mill
Midway, Utah

BEFORE THE WEDDING

Occupations: Marketing & Finance

How the couple met: We both attended Rice University

How he proposed: We always take shadow pictures when we travel, especially at the beach. In March we took a weekend trip to Ft Lauderdale, where it was a little cloudy but still tropical compared to the New York winter. During a break in the clouds, we were taking our usual shadow pics, when Dylan said he had a good idea for another picture, but required a prop. He told me to close my eyes and get the camera ready to take the shot while I waited. When I opened my eyes, Shadow Dylan was down on a knee, "holding" the ring box, which was sitting in the sand. Shadow Annie gave a thumbs up in response.

Bridal shower/Bachelorette party: Shower thrown by Dylan's family friends in Bridgeport, TX and a brunch thrown by bridesmaids in Houston.

Bachelor party: None, but went golfing Friday morning!

HONEYMOON

Place: Vomo Island, Fiji

A memorable moment of the honeymoon: A few hours after we arrived, we were walking along the beach on the far side of the island (away from the rooms) when a boat sped up to us and 2 staff hurriedly urged us to get in. There had been an earthquake in a nearby (for the South Pacific) island, causing a tsunami warning in Fiji. We spent the next hour or so with the rest of the resort's guests, halfway up the mountain in the middle of the island, waiting for the warning to be called off.

Love this album! Ericka and Jeremy had a destination wedding at The Johnson Mill in Midway, Utah. They are both from Texas so we communicated through email about the design of the album. They are showing off their album in December at their reception. Ericka and Jeremy decided to go with a beautiful 10x14 vertical album with a soft brown leather called "bomber jacket" then a 5x5 photo cameo cut out and their names and wedding date imprinted.

I just love it when my brides select an album that has a unique cover because let's face it plain black leather is boring. Every bride is unique and every wedding is unique and the wedding album should be unique as well.

JulieAnna + Jonathan
August 22, 2009
Little White Chapel
Salt Lake City, Utah

BEFORE THE WEDDING

Occupations:
Jonathan is an attorney by day and published writer by rest-of-the-day. JulieAnna is currently in graduate school in Cambridge Massachusetts studying to be a Dance/Movement Therapist and Mental Health Counselor.

How the couple met:
We met through friends in Columbus Ohio, Jonathan's home town, and where I went for college.

How he proposed:
We were living in Buenos Aires, Argentina when Jonathan proposed. He tried to surprise me at the airport but we missed each other and when he finally reached me on my cell phone I was on the bus going to meet him at the bus station, our original plan. He hopped in another cab, waited through horrendous traffic to come meet me at the English Tower in downtown Buenos Aires where he was finally able to propose to me (in Spanish!).

Bridal shower/Bachelorette party:
All the girls met up for a beautiful bridal shower at my best friend's house... though we both got stung by a bee! Afterwards we met up with the boys at Speak Easy for a combined bachelor/bachelorette party.

WEDDING

Ceremony Place:
The White Community Memorial Chapel, across from the Utah State Capitol building.

Date:
August 22, 2009

The bride wore:
Sunshine satin gown, made by White House Black Market ....and blue shoes

The groom wore:
J-Crew suit sans jacket (just the vest)

RECEPTION

Reception Place:
JulieAnna's parent's backyard in the foothills of the Salt Lake valley

Wedding music:
Michael Lucarelli played classical guitar for our ceremony and for the beginning of our reception. Then we danced the night away to a playlist of dance music we created ourselves.

Wedding song:
We danced to "Verano Porteno" an Argentine tango, since my family is from Argentina and we spent a year together living in Buenos Aires.

Menu:
We had a Thai buffet featuring food from Sawadee Restaurant

Cake:
White cake with custard filling. It was decorated with white fondant and green and blue cherry blossom stems.

Colors:
Blue and green

Flowers:
My mom and I did all of the flowers ourselves. We ordered flowers from a wholesale florist and then the day before the wedding made all of the arrangements and decorations with the generous help of friends and family.

Décor elements:
We submerged stems of orchids in vases of water and then floated a candle on top for our centerpieces.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT

Bride's answer:
At 1:00 am it was finally time for our last dance of the night, tons of couples joined us in dancing to "The Way You Look Tonight" and looking around there was just so much love in the air. I felt so blessed to be dancing in Jonathan's arms surrounded by people I love.

Groom's answer:
After the rest of the processional had completed, JulieAnna's father, Julio, threw open the door at the back of the chapel, landing with a bang that startled everyone. When we saw the grin on Julio's face, we all chuckled, then our collective gaze moved to JulieAnna, who looked angelic in her white dress, with those blue eyes smiling down the aisle at me.

HONEYMOON

Place: We spent a week in Puerto Rico and then a week on the island of St. Lucia.

A memorable moment of the honeymoon:
The serenity of watching the sun set over the ocean from our private villa, juxtaposed against the terror of discovering a huge centipede inside the room moments later, which led to a valiant battle of death-by-shoe (which the bride avoided by cowering in the bathroom).

WEDDING ADVICE:
Make your wedding your own so that it's an event you would want to attend, but also so that everyone leaves feeling like they know you and your new spouse a little bit better.
